KUALA LUMPUR, June 4, 2026 - Malaysia is moving decisively to address a legal gap highlighted by US investigators concerning foreign goods linked to forced labour. The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry explained that the US Trade Representative office identified a missing statutory mechanism that would allow Malaysia to filter and prohibit third-country raw materials or products entering its borders that contain forced labour components.

PUTRAJAYA,  June 4, 2026 - Over 8,800 vehicles have registered under the upgraded Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) and Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) within the first three days of its launch on June 1. According to Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, the initial registrations include 8,524 diesel pick-up trucks, 329 diesel jeeps, and nine petrol jeeps.
