PETALING JAYA, Feb 13, 2026 — Malaysia’s economic performance has closed the 2025 financial year with significant momentum, as official data confirms a 5.7% expansion in the fourth quarter. This growth outpaced the 5.2% recorded in the third quarter and brought the full-year GDP growth to 4.9%, comfortably exceeding the government’s original target range of 4.0% to 4.8%. The result was underpinned by a broad-based recovery across all major sectors, most notably a 6.0% surge in manufacturing and an eighth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth for the construction industry at 11.9%.
